This has to be one of the most interesting topics to discuss and explore. The dynamic generation gap when it comes to technology. With three generations that have completely different backgrounds living in one age together; this can only widen the generation gap between these generations even more.
As we all know, or might not know, generation X consists of the traditionalists and boomers. This generation is no stranger to the good ol’ beating every now and then just to put things back in their place when out of line. Because of this hard head generation X finds it hard to accept rapid changes that come with technology. And because of this they also find it difficult to understand and appreciate the latest technologies of today.
Then there is generation Y: The Millennium! These guys seem to get with the times more. Generation Y was the first generation to grow up with computers in their homes. Generation Y is also the generation to really stretch that gap between X and themselves. They had and used the cell phones, the box computers, etc. Which essentially means they find it far more easier to adapt and catch on to the constantly changing technologies.
We finally get to generation Z, The Post-Millennium. Now this generation are all in for the kill. These kids live for the now. They are always connected. They need things done in the quickest and easiest way with the least amount of effort from them and yet resulting in the most beneficial outcome.
“To be or not to be afraid of this generation?” That is the question that lies within all of our heads. We’ll just have to wait and see in the future as to how this generation might completely change our world as we know it.
